Heat Exchangers CRN questions
Is the shell side and tube side registered separately? +
A heat exchanger has two pressure-retaining chambers and the registration must address both. We register the exchanger as a unit while documenting each chamber's design pressure and temperature, because the regulator needs both.
We make welded-plate (not shell & tube) exchangers. Can you register those? +
Yes. Welded-plate and compact exchangers have specific code considerations (e.g. UG-8(4) treatment and burst-test substantiation). We have prepared and authenticated these packages for Canadian registration.
